ABOUT

Hollins Consulting, Inc (HCI) is a San Francisco-based professional consultancy firm established in 2008 with a staff of 45 professional staff. HCI is a SF Certified Local Business Enterprise (LBE CMD122115406), certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with the California Unified Certification Program, and certified Minority Business Enterprise with National Minority Supplier Development Council (MBE – WR06777). HCI organizational structure consists of teams with professional staff for both Buildings (vertical) and Infrastructure (Horizontal) with the purpose of providing Project Management, Construction Management, Owner’s Representative, Cost Estimating, System Commissioning, and other services as needed for complex buildings and infrastructure projects in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Our firm’s leadership team each has over 25 years of experience in the industry and our staff is comprised of professional engineers, architects, project managers, cost estimators, inspectors, and construction managers with a unique mix of public and private sector development projects experiences. We have numerous clients we provide services to as extended staff of large organizations & agencies, on multiyear As-needed Project Management & Construction Management support services.

 

We also can provide strategic planning, entitlements, permitting, pre-construction, and project delivery methodology analysis to support small and large-scale developments. Our work often involves stakeholders and inter-agency engagement including leading procurement and management of architects, engineers, general contractors, and key core subcontractors. HCI is proud to have represented our clients in the delivery of over $8 billion of laboratory and research facility, hospitals, corporate office (core/shell and tenant improvements), campus-wide renovations and expansions, convention centers, airports, transportation, museums, parks & cultural institutions, utility infrastructure and open space in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Derrick Cooper has 24 years of experience in project management and construction management on a wide variety of public buildings, transportation infrastructure, rail, aviation, and streetscape projects throughout the Bay Area. He has held responsibilities as lead project manager, resident engineer, owners’ representative, and construction manager for a number of infrastructure improvement programs. Derrick leads the Infrastructure sector for HCI

Guy Hollins has over 22 years of program and construction management experience with mixed use infrastructure projects in San Francisco. He has successfully navigated roles as owner’s representative, infrastructure and permit coordinator, utility coordinator and City liaison for a number of major infrastructure projects in San Francisco.

Construction management, Business Development

Brook Mebrahtu has over 27 years of experience Owner’s Representative, Senior Project Manager and Construction Manager leading some of the most challenging, complex and high-profile projects in San Francisco. Brook is an experienced leader in the construction industry with proven results and has been recognized with numerous awards by SPUR, CMAA and others. He understands the importance of collaboration and consensus building with project teams, in order to deliver the highest quality projects for his clients.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Joseph (Joe) has over 222 years of experience in the design and construction industry. Collaborating with a variety of disciplines within the industry taught Joe to facilitate and interface across diverse platforms. Having worked as an architect and a general contractor, he is able to visualize and translate both points of view. Joe leads the Aviation and Hospitality sectors for HCI.
